From fat times to monkey business, we are a destination that offers something for everyone, family and friends. Fat Monkeys is situated in the heart of Cape Maclear. The lodge originated in 1998 by three fat guys over a beer, hence the name!! It was originally a bar, which developed into a lodge offering accommodation, and offering activities. New management was taken over in 2009. And, Fat Monkeys is now developed into a fully-fledged lodge offering accommodation for a variety of travelers, from families, to backpackers, we have it all. Lots of activities for adults and children.
Rooms, Dorms & Campsite
We have 2 ensuite family chalets. Sleeps 4 people Double bed and 2 single beds Outdoor dining and seating Al fresco dining on outdoor terrace Includes Aircon @ US$120 per room per night.
All 5 rooms are ensuite and Sleeps 3 people. They have Double bed and 1 single bed @ US$65 per room per night. All en-suite rooms have safes, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, bedding and towels.
This room is ensuite and Sleeps 4 people. This have a Double bed and 1 bunk bed @ US$75 per room per night. It is en-suite and have safe, mosquito nets, ceiling fan, bedding and towels.
Each dorm has 3 bunk beds Sleeping 12 all together @ US$10 per person per night. They have an Outdoor seating for relaxing fun moments. Please note – no towels.
Lots of camping space situated on the beachfront underneath large mango trees providing lots of shade. Electricity points are available and also Self-catering @ US$8 per person per night.
We have one of the cleanest beach front at Fat Monkeys. Grab a drink at our bar located just beside the beach and enjoy the sip. We've lots of activities happening on the beach.
